Climate system

Six components,
one discipline.

Every bespoke wine room, wine cabinet or humidor by L'Humidor is engineered around the same technical system. Dimensions, finishes and architectural integration change. Parameters and tolerances do not.

01

Anti-vibration compressor

< 35 dB
EPDM silent-blocks

Condenser unit isolated in a dedicated technical cabinet. Metal-spring + EPDM suspension. Refrigerant pipework decoupled with flexible sleeves.

02

Capacitive probes

±0,5 °C
Accuracy ±1 % RH

Two or three reading points to capture natural stratification. Integrated with digital control. Annual calibration with saturated salt included in maintenance.

03

Ultrasonic humidification

70 % HR
Demineralised water

Piezoelectric mister that injects cold fog when below threshold. No salts, no limescale, no sediment. Bidirectional ventilation to correct overshoot above 72 %.

04

PIR insulation

80 mm
Thermal-bridge break

High-density polyisocyanurate panels. Minimum 80 mm thickness. Mechanical thermal-bridge breaks at profiles. Thermal transmittance below 0.22 W/m²K.

05

Argon-filled laminated glass

UV-Filter
Low emissivity

Double-glazing with argon cavity and low-e coating. Integrated UV filter at 380 nm. Used in glass wine rooms, humidor display cases and walk-in doors.

06

2,700 K UV-free LED

< 200 lux
Door-open sensor

Indirect linear lighting over wine racks or cigar boxes. Warm 2,700 K, programmable dimming, on-demand activation. Zero UV, zero light-strike.

1989, 2026

Thirty-five years,
one discipline.

L'Humidor was founded in Barcelona in 1989 as an artisan workshop for bespoke climate-controlled wine cellars. Thirty-five years later, more than 2,500 projects delivered to luxury residences, Michelin-starred restaurants and premium tobacconists across Spain and southern France. These are the milestones.

  1. 1989

    First cellar delivered

Bespoke climate-controlled wine cabinet for a private residence in Barcelona. 120 bottles, French oak, conventional compressor cooling. The project that defines the discipline.

  2. 1997

    In-house workshop opens

Cabinetmaking centralised in a dedicated Barcelona workshop. Noble woods sourced at origin, artisan fabrication and in-house quality control. The step from craft to integrated studio.

  3. 2008

    First walk-in humidor for tobacconist

Climate-controlled 18 m² room in a premium Madrid tobacconist. Capacity 12,000 cigars, full cedar lining, active climate control with redundant probes. The humidor vertical is formally born.

  4. 2014

First underground cellar with argon glass

3,500-bottle cellar in a Pedralbes residence. Earth thermal inertia + argon-cavity laminated glass with low-e coating. The technical standard we have applied ever since.

  5. 2019

    Madrid + Marbella expansion

Opening of commercial offices in Madrid and Marbella. On-site technical visits and architect coordination within 24-48 h across mainland Spain, Balearics and Canary Islands.

  6. 2026

    +2,500 projects delivered

A studio without equivalent in Spain, with five active verticals (built-in wine cabinets, glass wine rooms, underground cellars, restaurant kitchens, cigar humidors) and a commercial footprint in Spain and southern France. The discipline remains the same.
