Glass wine room for a luxury living area

Glass wine rooms
for luxury living areas.

Argon-filled laminated glass with low-emissivity double glazing, architectural structure and bottle racks that transform wine into the centrepiece of the space.

What we design

The wine room as scenic centrepiece of the space.

A glass wine room does not hide. It displays. And for that reason we design it as though it were a habitable sculpture: with a structure that dialogues with the living room's architecture, with focussed lighting that highlights the labels, and with glass that visually disappears when the ambient light is turned off.

Elite technical features

Glass, steel and climate precision.

  • Argon-filled laminated glass with low-emissivity double glazing. Double low-emissivity glazing with integrated UV filter. Ultra-transparent anti-reflective option available.
  • Architectural structure. Corten steel, stainless steel or solid noble wood. Welded or traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, according to project.
  • Scenic lighting. UV-free LED 2,700 K with scene programming (ambient, tasting, absence). Focal spots or continuous strip behind racks.
  • Verified hermeticity. Triple door seal with pressure closure. Pressure test before delivery.
  • Anti-vibration climate control with remote compressor. Compressor located remotely (storage room, technical riser) on EPDM silent-blocks, connected to the room only via decoupled refrigerant piping.
  • Geometric bottle racks. Diamonds, hexagonal cells, horizontal or vertical linear layouts. Every piece calculated for your collection.
  • Push-to-open door. Door with no visible handle, soft opening and automatic damped return.
  • Independent hygrometric control. Stable 60–70% RH, with deviation alarm connected to your phone.
  • Structural finishes. Natural oxidation, verdigris patina, aged gold, matt black, any RAL to order.
  • Annual maintenance included. Annual maintenance, spare parts and scene reprogramming at no cost during the first year.

Customisation options

A wine room that exists only once.

Every glass wine room we deliver is designed from scratch around your space. We do not work with standard modules. Height, depth, rack layout and steel colour are all calculated from architectural drawings in collaboration with the architect or interior designer responsible for the project.

Frequently asked questions

About glass wine rooms.

What type of glass is used in a glass wine room?

Tempered double-pane glass with an argon cavity, low emissivity and an integrated UV filter. Optional: ultra-transparent anti-reflective glass to enhance the visual presence of the bottles.

Does the living room lighting harm the wine?

The UV filter in the glass blocks harmful rays. The interior lighting is LED 2,700 K with no UV emission. With the cellar sealed and specialist glazing, the wine is protected even in very brightly lit living areas.

Can it be installed as a room divider?

Yes. We design pass-through or double-sided wine rooms, visible from both sides, acting as a divider between living room and dining room, or between entrance hall and social area. An architectural element, not a piece of furniture.

What capacity can it reach?

Between 400 and 3,000 bottles depending on available space. In large-format glass wine rooms we can reach up to 5,000 bottles with a double-height structure.

What temperature and humidity does a glass wine room maintain?

Single-temperature wine rooms: 12–14°C with ±0.5°C stability and 60–70 % RH. Multi-temperature configurations (5–20°C) are available for mixed collections. Active digital humidification with ultrasonic nozzles prevents cork desiccation and controls condensation on the glass interior surface.

Where is the compressor located in a glass wine room?

Always remotely: in a technical cupboard, utility room or ceiling void, connected only via decoupled refrigerant piping. This eliminates vibration transmission to the bottle racks (maintained below 35 dB inside) and removes any mechanical noise from the living area.

What structural materials are available for a glass wine room?

Corten steel in natural oxidation or clear-lacquered finish, AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel, solid oak, solid walnut and mixed combinations. No visible fasteners. Custom finishes (aged bronze, matt black, brushed gold, specific RAL) available to order.

How long does a glass wine room project take?

Between 8 and 12 weeks from sign-off: technical drawing, full pre-assembly in our Barcelona workshop, transport and on-site installation. Installation takes 3–5 days for a standard unit and up to 8 days for a double-height or pass-through configuration.

What is the best approach to commissioning a glass wine room for a luxury living area?

Begin with the available floor plan and ceiling height, desired bottle capacity, preferred structural material and compressor location. Joan Serrate, with over 30 years of experience and verifiable references including Hotel Arts Barcelona and Hesperia Tower, responds within 48 hours. A photorealistic 3D render is included in every proposal.

Can a glass wine room be integrated with KNX or Loxone home automation?

Yes. Temperature and humidity data points are exposed to the building management system. Lighting scenes (ambient, tasting, absence) are triggerable from any KNX or Loxone panel. Thermal deviation alerts (±0.5°C from set-point) are sent to a mobile app, along with door open/closed sensor monitoring.

What bottle rack geometries are available?

Diamond, hexagonal cell, horizontal linear, vertical linear, diagonal and mixed configurations. Rack depth is calculated for Bordeaux, Burgundy, Magnum, Champagne and any other formats present in the actual collection. Pre-assembled in the workshop before delivery.

What maintenance is included with a glass wine room?

The first annual maintenance visit is included: compressor check, probe calibration, door seal inspection, UV-filter integrity check and lighting scene verification. Subsequent years are covered under an optional preventive maintenance contract.
