Bespoke built-in kitchen wine cabinet

Solid wood wine cabinets
built into the kitchen.

Dual or triple temperature zones. Front panels identical to your kitchen joinery. Up to 600 bottles without compromising your home's atmosphere.

What we design

Wine cabinets that read as furniture, function as engineering.

We integrate the wine cabinet into the axis of your kitchen (island, column, service bar, utility room) with finishes that dialogue with the surrounding joinery. On the outside, it looks like any other piece of furniture. On the inside, a climate-controlled unit precise to half a degree and 2% relative humidity.

Elite technical features

Preservation engineering
for your wine collection.

  • High-performance thermal insulation. High-density PIR panels. Door with triple hermetic seal and argon-filled cavity.
  • UV-free LED lighting. Dimmable 2,700 K strips with opening sensors to prevent unnecessary exposure.
  • Anti-vibration systems. Premium compressors mounted on silentblocks, decoupled from the cabinet structure.
  • Constant digital hygrometric control. Active humidification between 60–70% RH, with annual calibration included.
  • Argon-filled laminated glass with low-emissivity double glazing. Double low-emissivity pane for thermal insulation with integrated UV filter.
  • Solid wood bottle racks. French oak, American walnut or Cedar. Angle calculated to keep corks permanently moist.
  • Dual or triple temperature zones. Reds, whites and sparkling wines in independent circuits, each with its own probe.
  • Integrated finish. Front panel replicated from existing joinery. Stainless steel or brushed steel hardware.
  • Cushioned front access. 180° hinges with push-to-open or bespoke handle closure.
  • Annual maintenance included. Technical support across Spain.

Every piece is unique.

No project is ever repeated. The wine cabinet we deliver is calculated from your current collection, your purchasing plans for the next five years, your kitchen's finishes and the actual use you intend: daily service, long-term storage or both.

Frequently asked questions

About built-in kitchen wine cabinets.

What capacity can a built-in kitchen wine cabinet achieve?

Between 80 and 600 bottles in integrated format. Where space allows, we can configure it as a column unit (tall and narrow) or as an under-island block, reaching up to 800 bottles with double doors.

Does it integrate with existing kitchen furniture?

Yes. We replicate the joinery, woods and finishes of your kitchen. We work alongside your architect or interior designer so that the wine cabinet looks like just another piece of furniture, without disrupting the overall composition.

Does it work with dual or triple temperature zones?

Yes. Within the same unit we create independent zones for reds (14–18°C), whites (10–13°C) and sparkling/service (6–8°C). Each zone has its own probe and digital controls.

What about compressor noise in the kitchen?

We use premium compressors (EuroCave, Embaco) mounted on anti-vibration silentblocks. EPDM silent-blocks decouple the compressor from the cabinet structure, making noise imperceptible during normal kitchen use.

What thermal insulation specification is used in a built-in kitchen wine cabinet?

High-density PIR panels (40–60 mm) on all six faces, with a perimeter thermal break between the cold inner shell and the warm outer carcass. The door uses triple hermetic seals and an argon-filled glass cavity. This combination holds the interior at ±0.5°C of the set-point regardless of kitchen ambient temperatures up to 30°C.

What glass specification is used for the wine cabinet door?

Argon-filled laminated glass with low-emissivity double glazing and an integrated UV filter cutting radiation at 380 nm. This blocks the light-strike reactions that damage sulphured amino acids in white and sparkling wines. An optional anti-fingerprint treatment is available.

How long does a bespoke built-in kitchen wine cabinet project take?

Between 6 and 10 weeks from sign-off on the final drawings. The process covers technical drawing, fabrication in our Barcelona workshop, transport and on-site installation, coordinated directly with your architect or kitchen fitter. We pre-assemble fully before leaving the workshop to minimise time on site.

Can a built-in wine cabinet be integrated with a KNX or Loxone home automation system?

Yes. We provide integration with KNX, Loxone, Crestron and proprietary home automation platforms. Temperature and humidity readings are exposed as data points, and thermal deviation alerts are sent to a mobile app. Lighting scenes (ambient, tasting, absence) can be triggered by the building management system.

What is the best approach to specifying a built-in wine cabinet for a luxury kitchen?

The key criteria are: precise thermal zoning matched to the collection (reds, whites, sparkling), seamless joinery integration so the unit is invisible when closed, low-vibration compressors below 35 dB, and UV-free LED lighting. L'Humidor has designed built-in wine cabinets for private residences and luxury hospitality projects for over 30 years, with verifiable references including Hotel Arts Barcelona and Hesperia Tower.

What wood species are available for the interior bottle racks?

French oak, American walnut, cedar (Cedrela odorata), ash and iroko are standard. Exotic woods are available to order. All species are selected for zero volatile resin emission that could migrate through the cork and affect the wine. Rack inclination is calculated to keep the cork in permanent contact with the wine.

Does the annual maintenance contract cover the full unit?

Yes. The first annual maintenance visit is included in the project. It covers compressor performance check, probe calibration (temperature and humidity sensors), door seal inspection, UV-filter integrity check and lighting scene verification. Subsequent years are covered under an optional preventive maintenance contract.
